If I delete a message on my Gmail in my browser, will it stay in Thunderbird?

My company is implementing an email policy that will automatically delete emails that are more than 90 days old. I want to save a lot of these emails so I can access them later. If I have downloaded all my messages to date in Thunderbird and the old ones start to get deleted, will they remain in Thunderbird or also delete there?
