Saved Passwords keep disappearing. EVERY last couple of Firefox updates have removed my saved passwords.

I have to keep backing up my profile (1-3 a week) because Firefox has blown away all of my passwords. Every time for the last couple of updates it has done this. It's getting old. Is an update suppose to erase settings? Saved passwords? And seeing the number of "lost passwords" questions over the several updates, I'd say this is an issue that the developers REALLY need to look at rather than pretty pictures at the new version screen.
