I have just installed win 8 pro 64bit. I have also updated firefox to 16.0.2 latest update.The browser is freezing as soon as I type any web address

I am getting 'stop script' pop up for any website. I tried all the trouble shootings mentioned infact I even installed Firefox again but the problem is still there.

You could try making the value for this setting in about:config larger.
