I have been using Firefox for years. With the change to Firefox & , and using the same glasses, I have to crane my neck forward to read the text. This is a new problem starting with Version 7. I do not want to increase the font and icons very much but they need to be a little bigger. Can this be done?

Increase the String pref layout.css.devPixelsPerPx from 1.0 to 2.0 in 0.1 or 0.05 steps to adjust the size of all fonts and other elements in Firefox.

In current Firefox versions this pref is a String value parsed to a float and allows to fine tune the dimensions of all elements (user interface and web pages) more precisely.

To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

  • Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
  • Preferences that have been modified show as bold (user set).
  • Preferences can be reset to the default via the right-click context menu if they are user set
  • Preferences can be changed via the right-click context menu: Modify (String or Integer) or Toggle (Boolean)

Thank you very much for that: I had forgotten to try that. That works in the body of the page but not on the Toolbars. I am having difficulty with the address bar and the Bookmarks toolbar. Any ideas there?

cor-el, thank you very much for the trouble you took to help me. And it was a great help. I found that increasing the value from 1.0 to 1.3 enabled me to read the toolbars again. Regards
