how do I ad new files to my bookmarks?
When I click "Bookmarks" , then " Show all Bookmarks" , then "Organize" when the library window opens, the "New folder" and other options are faded in the background and inoperable.

The Library window usually opens to the All Bookmarks folder. It's normal for the Organize menu items to be disabled here, as any new items need to be sorted in to either the Menu, the Toolbar or the Unsorted folders.
Are the Organize options still disabled if you move to one of those folders?
