Just install a router or a firewall or proxy with a password protected logging feature. That is the only way to do this properly because then there is always a record of visited websites.

Yes, I know that blocking unwanted traffic in the router is effective, but the deterrent effect of knowing that the history trail cannot be cleared is lost. I.E. realises that many people may want to do this and by a simple change of a registry key the 'clear trail' boxes are greyed out. I always thought that Firefox gave you eveything that I.E. did BUT MORE. I hope that I am not going to be let down! Thanks for your reply,
