Mozilla has not used a latest folder anymore as you can see at https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/latest/

The .mars are in for example http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/65.0.1/update/

I know where the .mars are available. I want to automatically download the latest .mar file from the archive without searching the current download directory manually.

Background: The firefox (linux) is installed by root and the users can't update them. I use the "updater" binary to update the firefox by root and I don't want to search the current .mar file in the huge list of releases on https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/. If there's a download location like e.g. "https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-update&os=linux64&lang=en-US" I would be happy.

doubt it. you could just come up with your own script for curl to get the latest.
