Can not add any bookmarks. I am using the blue star but nothing happens
This is a new HP PC in which I down loaded Firefox. Everything seems to operate perfectly except the Bookmark capability. All my bookmark sections are all empty. Tried various websites to bookmark. No action takes place. Updated to latest Firefox version. No change.

Are you looking in the Other Bookmarks folder? That's where they would appear when using the Star to save a new bookmark.
{ Ctrl + B } to open the Bookmarks Sidebar. And use { Ctrl + Shift + B } to open the Library window.
I am a 5+ year user of Firefox and the bookmark library and associated folders. I have no problems with my other PC with Firefox. I know my way around Firefox and the library folders. All my folders on this new PC are empty regardless of the many attempts to store a bookmark. Tried the Ctrl +shift +B and the drop down menu options with no results. Open to other suggestions.
Problem was resolved by following the 2nd url (above) . It required the deletion of the "places.sqlite" file. On restarting Firefox, a new places.sqlite file was created and my bookmark problem was corrected. Thank you for your assistance.
