sync is losing bookmarks

I just started using sync because I got tired of exporting my bookmarks to my laptop manually. Well, bad decision apparently.

Since then, about 80% of my toolbar bookmarks have vanished, both on my desktop and the laptop. Bookmark folders were duplicated but were empty or near empty.

I use to love Firefox. Now, I only use it because it's not Internet Explorer, but I'm getting to the point where I'm not sure which one I hate more.
