For some reason when I am writing an email it isn't picking up spelling/grammar mistakes with a red line. Even if I click spell check it still doesn't notice anything. And when I use to use Thunderbird a few years ago, when I click send it use come up with the box telling me there are some mistakes but doesn't do it on the newer version?

Anyone know what I can do to fix this ?

Cheers, Aaron

I suspect you don't have a dictionary installed. Or spell checking is disabled.

If you're "remembering" grammar checking than I don't think it's Thunderbird you're thinking of.

Tools|Options|Composition|Spelling

Make sure it's enabled and it tells you what language it's working with. If there's no dictionary you may have to download one.

There are also settings for dictionaries at Tools|Add-ons|Dictionaries, but I think this is more useful for telling you what is installed or perhaps more importantly, if it's enabled or not.
