hello mario, mozilla is working on fixing that in firefox 36, which you could try out soon, as firefox 36 beta is released later today... https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/channel/#beta
You need MSE support to be able to get 60fps offered. Best is to wait until a Firefox version gets released that has MSE support enabled by default.
- [/questions/1028307] Will Firefox support Youtube in 60 fps anytime soon?

Yes, Firefox 36, pushed to the stable branch today, fully supports MSE and fixes all of the issues YouTube has been having with Firefox recently. On some OSes however, it's not enabled by default. If it's not working for you on the latest version of Firefox, use this guide to enable it: http://drg.li/-yk3t

So 36 is out, and mse is still not enabled, what gives?
media source extensions were disabled again for the moment after it was found in the 36 beta cycle that they have caused too much instability and crashing problems. those issues are continually worked on & firefox 37 is targeted as new release were mse will be enabled out of the box.

It's present, and works perfectly, it's just not enabled by default. I have no idea why, but it might be because there is a bug with video scaling in OS X, but I think this is a problem with OS X and not Firefox because the same bug exists in Chrome. Enabling it is really easy and takes about two seconds. I wrote a tutorial on how to do it here: http://drg.li/-yk3t
ColtonDRG I have those enabled and still doesnt work.
When I try to play a 60fps video it will spin for ages, maybe 3-5 minutes and then will eventually start playing using a worse codec only at 30fps.
OS is win7
