Hello Carol.

Although possibly not related to your problem, I will remind you that the version of Firefox you are using at the moment has been discontinued and is no longer supported. Furthermore, it has known bugs and security problems. I urge you to update to the latest version of Firefox, for maximum stability, performance, security and usability. You can get it for free, as always, at getfirefox.com.

As for your issue, you need to provide more information. Firefox is not an email client. You may be having a problem with the email client you use, or with the site you are using to handle emails...

I am visiting my daughter and have logged into their wireless internet. Emails are not sending and stay in the out box folder. Error msg is: Task 'Barbara Key - Sending' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook cannot connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

Barbara, if you're having an issue with Outlook, you need to contact Microsoft for support.

Already checked with MS. Not an issue with them. As error msg stated:

Well, if you're having a problem with Outlook, how is it a problem with Firefox?

I'm confused...

Barbara,

Firefox has nothing to do with the SMTP protocol which is used by email programs, not by web browsers.

The port used by your ISP, which your Outlook installation uses, might be blocked by your daughter's wireless router for security purposes; her email program and service probably uses a different port for SMTP.
