Confermo si tratti di un bug: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2077590 Bisogna attendere che venga risolto.

Oppure se sai muoverti tra i file di configurazione di Thunderbird, segui quanto scritto qui: https://support.mozilla.org/it/questions/1609189

Se trascini e rilasci l'allegato nella finestra di composizione del messaggio dovrebbe funzionare.
