I added .eml files from backup into Sent folder in Explorer. TBird client continues to show the messages that are the .eml files that already were in Sent folder in Explorer. TBird client shows none of the messages that are the .eml files that I added into Sent folder in Explorer.

Thunderbird uses mbox files, not EML file so I guess you should probably import your EML files with the importexport addon. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools-ng/?src=ss

Thunderbird can export an EML file and if it is double clicked on can open and display the contents, but natively it does not use to format.
