I want Thunderbird to take my emails off the server

Matt replied

My email recently migrated from Cox to Yahoo. I'm not happy about it. I can't wait until Thunderbird has an app! Anyway, I had to change my imap settings but now Thunderbird isn't taking my emails off the server. How do I do that? Thanks in advance, Allison

I suggest you read the information about what IMAP is, then compare it to POP and work out what it is you want to use. IMAP is by definition a syncronised service to the mail server.

Here is a starting point for the IMAP V's POP story. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/difference-between-imap-and-pop3
