Ctrl + Shift + P doesn't work with left shift key?

Oddball minor problem I've encountered on a recent update of Firefox, but also I switched keyboards at the same time, so I'm not sure which causing the problem. I'm on a PC, using an MSI keyboard. Ctrl and Shift keys all work, the ONLY combination that doesn't work is (left) Ctrl + (left)Shift + P. Other Ctrl + Shift key combinations work. If I hold the right Ctrl and either shift, P works fine. If I hold the right Ctrl and the right Shift, P works fine. (left) Ctrl + (left)Shift + any other key shortcut in Firefox or elsewhere works, it's ONLY the P shortcut and only in Firefox and only with the left two ctrl+shift combo that doesn't work.

Any ideas on what is causing this and how to fix it?

I think we all expect a new private window, so it's definitely strange if nothing happens.

Is it just a plain old "U.S. English" keyboard, or a multilingual keyboard, or another language?

If you use my tester page at

https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/keyvents.html

is Firefox receiving the Ctrl+Shift+P at all? For a character that doesn't have a keyboard shortcut assigned, like the letter a, you normally see a keydown, keyup, and keypress event, but if there is a shortcut assigned in Firefox, you may see only the keydown and keyup, or maybe only the keyup. If the system is sending it elsewhere, then you might not see anything.

Note: the page doesn't send your test keystrokes to the webserver, they are all processed locally in the page.

Software on your system may have a global hook for that key combination, for example AMD Radeon ReLive has one for Ctrl+Shift+S. Does it work in other applications?

1) It's just a plain ol' US English keyboard! Nothing too fancy. 2) The tester page doesn't seem to record Ctrl+Shift+P at all, but it does record other key inputs. Ctrl+Shift+P does still work with other Ctrl+Shift key combos, just not the left-side Ctrl+Shift. I tested those key inputs as well, and while they opened the Private Browsing window, they still didn't show up in the tester. To be clear, other left-side Ctrl+Shift combos both worked and recorded, so it's only the Private Browsing shortcut that has this issue, and only with the left side Ctrl+Shift.

I mean, it's not exactly a catastrophic problem, but it's so weird..!

A good question! I don't really use Ctrl+Shift+P anywhere else, so I didn't come across it, but I did some more digging and it looks like the left-side Ctrl+Shift doesn't work with P in Excel, either, so I guess it's NOT a Mozilla issue. I'll have to contact MSI.

In the past some simple modifier key sequences were used to rotate the keyboard layout, so maybe check that.
