I have 3 user accounts,Admin,Guest and Visitor. The Admin User account has updated successfully from version 113.0 to Version 120.0,the latest version. When I tried to update the Guest Account and the Visitor Account from version 113 to version 120 I got a notification "Firefox cannot update automatically, download the latest version"but I already have the latest version downloaded in the Admin account. When I checked in Programs there is one Firefox icon version 120.0 and two other icons 113.0.

Thank you for your reply and no,I wasn't running multiple profiles but in the end I decided to try changing permissions in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox/firefox.exe folder to Admin Privileges from within the Guest Account and Visitor Account and voila, Firefox updated successfully from Version 113.0 to Version 120.0 in both without affecting the Admin Account.I then removed Admin Privileges from the Guest Account and Visitor Account to maintain the level of privacy I had before. So glad I don't have to uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for all your help.

Do all of your Windows users share the same program path at

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe

or do their shortcuts lead to different folders? To check the "Target" of a shortcut, right-click it and choose Properties. Windows should display the Shortcut tab with the Target path highlighted, but if it doesn't click over to that info.

I guess it goes without saying that it would be simplest if they all were able to share one program folder rather than requiring individual updates.

If you installed Firefox from the Windows app store, then the above is not applicable because Windows manages the program location.

Thanks for your quick reply.I am trying to it figure it all out.It might take some time. I checked the Folder in Programs in the Admin account and in Properties under "sharing" it says "network path not shared". In the Guest account in "Downloads" I found the Firefox Installer App, tried to install but download failed. I'm wondering what to do next. I don't see any shortcuts.I'm pretty sure that when I set up the Guest and Visitor accounts that I changed permissions to deny access to everything but shared programs and don't want to unravel that set up. Would it be possible to uninstall Firefox in the Guest account and Visitor account only and reinstall without with the latest version whilst leaving my Admin Account Firefox as is? What would it mean if i did nothing and just never updated in the accounts with the older version?

Sorry,I meant reinstall with the latest version not without.

You aren't running multiple profile under the same Firefox version at the same time as in that case only the first instance started can update ?
