On the "desktop" version of Firefox, if the site does not specify a particular font, Firefox will use the font listed for that character set on the Preferences/Options page.

  • Windows: "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Options
  • Mac: "3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences
  • Linux: "3-bar" menu button (or Edit menu) > Preferences
  • Any system: type or paste about:preferences into the address bar and press Enter/Return to load it

Scroll down to the Fonts & Colors section and click the Advanced button. At the top, you can change the selector from "Latin" or whatever currently is selected to one of the Chinese-language character set options: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Hong Kong), or Traditional Chinese (Taiwan) to view and change the default font used for that character set.

On Windows 7, I see (for serif, sans-serif, monotype):

  • Simplified: SimSun / Microsoft YaHei / SimSun
  • Traditional-HK: Times New Roman / Arial / MingLiU-HKSCS
  • Traditional-TW: Times New Roman / Arial / MingLiU

Those very well could be different on Mac/Linux, on Android (not sure if you can view it anywhere), and among browsers.

And can you guys add An option to hide the tabs?

What version of Firefox is that and what kind of device? Firefox for Android doesn't show tabs on phones, but it might show them on tablets. (I don't have an Android tablet to check settings.)
