Every time I rearrange bookmarks, move folders, or move bookmarks from one folder to another, Firefox will -- within the following day or so -- delete entire groups of bookmarks, even entire FOLDERS of book marks. Nothing but empty folders remain. Then I have to start all over again by restoring the bookmarks from the last backup, and retrieving one by one the ones that I had accrued since the last backup. This happens again and again. What is going on?

Are you using any bookmark add-ons? Are you using sync?

As a precaution, To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).

Is the problem still there?
