can't uninstall 4beta, am told to close, but it's not open

I get messages that my warranty may be voided, since changes have been made. since my most recent software change is adding Firefox 4beta, I have tried to uninstall it. I can't, since when I am asked to close Firefox it isn't open anyway. I also get messages that Better Privacy is at fault, but I've never added it.
