Can't get Lightning to install into TB 31.2.0.

I went to the Lightning site and downloaded Lightning. I then went into TB 31.2.0 and went to the Add-Ons Manager. I clicked on Lightning and it brought me to a screen that said "Add to Thunderbird", so I clicked on that. That brought me to a screen that said "You have chosen to open lightning 3.3.1_tb+sm-windows.xpi. What should Thunderbird do with this file?" It then asked if I want to open it [chose a program] or save it. I tried saving the file and going through the process again, but the same thing happens.

What am I doing wrong and how can I get Lightning to install?

From the add on screen click the gear icon an then Install from File. See if that works.

Wow, that was quick. Thanks so much; that solved my problem. I just wish they were a little more clear about how to install it.
