I'm using Firefox on macOS, and I'm having a persistent issue with the built-in screenshot tool.

When I take a screenshot using the right-click → "Take Screenshot" option, Firefox always saves the image to the Downloads folder, even though I’ve changed the setting in about:config to use a different save location.
   I've tried modifying:
       browser.download.dir to a custom folder
browser.download.useDownloadDir → true or false (I've tested both)
Despite these changes, Firefox continues to ignore the custom path and always saves screenshots in the default Downloads folder.
   I’d like to know:
       Is this a known issue?
Is there a working method to change the default save folder for screenshots?
Or is the screenshot tool hardcoded to use Downloads regardless of configuration?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi

I regularly update a JSON file from VMware. In the past (before March this year), when I clicked the link below, and then clicked "save", the file I was viewing was saved, as expected.

link text

Since I tried this in March, it would display the new updated file when I click on the link. I then click Save, and the old file that was last saved months back is saved. Even deleting the file in the Downloads folder still saves the old file data.

I found that if I deleted all cookies and cached data for vmware.com, that the next time the latest file would be saved. I last did that in June. Today, in July, I view the file as dated 18 July, but when saved, the data from 17 June is saved in Downloads.

I'm running the latest Windows 140.0.4 (64-bit) Firefox on Windows Server 2022.

Is this a bug with JSON files? Is there something I need to do? This used to work.
