I was going to take a look at the form, but I was surprised to find that there are numerous different login pages: http://www.ml.com/index.asp?id=7695_14227_14228.

When I enter a random test user name here: https://www.mymerrill.com/ml/home.aspx?site=mymerrill

I get the expected error: "User ID not found. Click Here to retrieve your User ID." The Click Here link goes to ml.com instead of being on the same site.

If I try the username thisisatest then I get the page to enter a password, which also is on ml.com. So there is a cross-domain interaction here that might be affected by any restrictions on third party cookies or external scripts.

Are you entering your login information manually, or using either Firefox's password manager or Roboform to enter it?

Could you test the site in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to bypass interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using

Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset)

Any difference?

HI,

All my inputs are manual. I do have credentials stored in Roboform, but I don't need it for this login. I did try logging in with and without 'Remember my user id' selected with the same results. I also tried a private window with the same results. I did notice the URL ends with 'Login.aspx' if that makes a difference. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it

Did you try Safe Mode?

In case you use the Firefox Password Manager then try to disable saving passwords and also saved form data in case that is interfering.

Remove these check marks as a test:

  • Tools > Options > Security: Passwords: "Remember passwords for sites"
  • Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": "Remember search and form history"

I can't tell whether you tried Firefox's Safe Mode. Did that make any difference?

Thank you. I was using a book marked page (which BTW I've been using for years). I tried one of the links you provided and it worked. Thanks for your help!
