Download Destination: Contents of folder can not be changed. Why?
Firefox v20.0.1 Windows 7 (64 bit) Using Private Browsing
When I attempt to download a file an error message pops up telling me that the contents of my destination folder can not be changed...and that I should change the properties of the destination folder or try downloading to a different location.
I do not know any reason why the contents of my destination folder could not be changed. Please tell me how to fix this problem.

A possible cause is that the destination folder has other permissions than the %temp% folder where Firefox may initially start saving the download. Firefox may not be able to copy the file and set the same (NTFS) permissions to the file once copied to the destination folder.
Does it help to choose another destination folder (e.g. the desktop as a test)?
This can also happen if you want to copy the file to a network drive.
Hi cor-el, I had the same problem when trying to download to the desktop. Then I created a new folder on the desktop and tried to download to it but have the same problem. I also tried my download folder which I rarely use and had the same problem.
I am the only one using my computer so I think the permissions are the same for all the folders I've tried.
My computer is one of several that access the Internet through a common router. I don't know if this qualifies as the network problem you mentioned but I have never had this problem in the past (accept once just recently).
I would be grateful to hear more of your thoughts on this matter. Thanks!
