I'm taking an mechanical engineering course online, and have reached a point where I need to type in equations which use Greek letters and superscripts and so forth. Is it possible to do this within Firefox, or do I need to create the equations elsewhere (like maybe Word or Excel) then cut & paste? (The course is at oli.web.cmu.edu.)

Thanks very much for your help. abcTajpu appears to be primarily for use with languages other than English, however the Wikipedia article you cited pointed me in the right direction. It looks like what will be most useful is at http://www.fileformat.info/tip/microsoft/enter_unicode.htm.
