Mail not displayed in folders
This afternoon, without any warning, all my mail in every folder could not be displayed. This is the second time this has happened in the last month and a half. I have two mail accounts - one that goes through Yahoo and the other Gmail. No mail is displayed in either account.
When I run Thunderbird in troubleshooting mode, the mail does display. I then disabled the few addons that I use but that didn't make any difference. When not in troubleshooting mode, no mail is displayed.
Of course, there's "troubleshooting information" but that's way too technical for me to get anything out of it.
I've been a Thunderbird user for over 20 years and I would like to keep using it but this performance is discouraging.
What do I need to do to get past this issue? I'm assuming I'll be able to read an email response by using troubleshooting mode.
Thanks.

AS you inferred the first place to check is any add-ons you have installed. Make sure they are up to date. In normal mode - disable them and restart Thunderbird Sometimes, it's not one specific add-on having a problem with Thunderbird, but a clash is occurring with another add-on.
- In 'Help' > 'Troubleshooting Information'
- Scroll down to the 'Add-ons' section
- Copy all the data and paste it into this forum question.
That will tell everyone what add-ons are involved.
However, Troubleshoot mode will also disable hardware acceleration.
- In 'Settings' > 'General'
- Scroll all the way right down to the bottom
- Uncheck 'Use hardware acceleration when available'
Then restart Thunderbird.
Add on info: Add-ons Name Type Version Enabled Location ID Thundermail extension 2.0.5 true app-builtin-addons tbpro-system-add-on@thunderbird.net System theme — auto theme 1.4.2 true app-builtin default-theme@mozilla.org Compact Headers extension 5.16 false app-profile compactHeaders@dillinger Emoji extension 1.102.10 false app-profile emoji@ganss.org Open Google Calendar extension 1.6 false app-profile opengooglecalendar@glicer Dark theme 1.3.2 false app-builtin thunderbird-compact-dark@mozilla.org Light theme 1.3.2 false app-builtin thunderbird-compact-light@mozilla.org
Unchecking Hardware acceleration did not solve the problem.
