My default browser is set to a browser other than Microsoft Edge, but every time I try to open a link from Thunderbird, it opens in Edge.

I encourage you to check 'default apps' in Windows to verify all possible links to browsers. Unless you made a specific setting in Settings>general, thunderbird just goes with the OS's settings.

I did and everything thing I can is set to something other than Edge.
