I am trying to re-set my login. I have the correct pwrd . When Thunderbird finds my account and I click on "done" , the message "incoming servicr already exists". After that nothing happens.

Exactly how are you trying to do that? It does not sound like you are using the password manager. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/password-manager-remember-delete-change-tb
It sounds to me like you are trying to add your account a second time.
