Hello all,

I know this feature is brand new and awesome! I have a question about the statement below from the FAQ.

What does the statement "When editing with Firefox, your documents generally stay on your local device" mean? I am just wondering about the "generally" portion.

I sometimes have to edit sensitive documents and want to make sure that this editor is a viable option. Will there be a prompt if the file has to be uploaded to a server?

Just some security concerns.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Tom

Is that Google's AI summary? Possibly it hedges its answers to avoid sounding too confident, but either way, there should be a link to the source of the information.

By the way, I didn't get that section, so either my searches didn't match yours, or it comes up with new answers:

Anyway, back to the question:

The built-in PDF viewer does not transmit your PDF or markups to any website. It is completely local.

Keep in mind that markups in the page are not saved automatically as you work, so you need to save from time to time to avoid accidentally flushing your changes by closing or reloading the page.

@jscher2000,

Thank you for your response! This makes me feel far better about using the editor in the browser.
