Hi, I have no idea how it is suppose to work. If sign in on a web opage it sounds to me like the tab should be left open.

You don't have to keep the tab open in Whatsapp web in order for it to keep you logged in. There's even an option to check a "Keep me logged in" box. I never had this trouble until the update to quantum.

I already tried few of the extensions, nothing worked.

please try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st:

• https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Note the issue could be in your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

• https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Refreshing Firefox seems to work, Whatsapp web remembered me after an hour without activity. Hope it'll stay this way.
