Before Windows crashed, Thunderbird displayed the list of subjects & senders in a column to the left of the screen, and the details of the selected email to the right of the screen. After running my recovery discs and downloading Thunderbird, I have a horizontal separator between the list and the message. How do I make Thunderbird give me the older display format?

You change the view under the VIEW Menu. From the Menu Bar select View-Layout and take one of the 3 choices. If the menu bar is hidden press the alt key to make it appear.
