adds ".com" without me even pressing the control key for no apparent reason when I hit enter
it used to not do that but instead search the google. annoyingly it doesn't even recognise a single space for a keyword to make it a google search

Could you check to make sure the keyword search feature is still enabled?
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste keyw and pause while the list is filtered
(3) If the keyword.enabled preference is bolded and user set to false, double-click it to switch it back to true

yes I can do the keyword search, but I enabled the search bar and found out there's a shortcut on ctrl-E for it so I'll work with this for now not as simple as having one bar for everything though, and it doesn't look as clean
