How do I PREVENT firefox from updating to version 29?

Period, nothing else, end of story. Please don't defend why I need to upgrade, and don't tell me about security issues & other nonsense, I really don't care and honestly don't believe it anyway.

I've uninstalled 29, and reinstalled an earlier version, set it to NEVER check for updates, and when I rebooted the computer and relaunched firefox, I was looking at vers. 29.

I've tried this numerous times with different versions of firefox, and used system restore a few times as well to get me back to a point before 29 came into the picture at all, and set the browser to never check for updates... but as soon as I reboot... 29 again!

Has "big brother" bought out mozilla or what? What is in 29 that WE DON'T WANT but they won't let us NOT have?

HOW DO I KEEP THIS FROM HAPPENING??

Or... Is it even possible, since apparently my "never check for updates" preference doesn't matter anymore?

Thanks for your help!
