Hello. Hoping this doesn't have a simple answer that I can't find on my own, but I have looked and haven't found anything yet.
I've been using Thunderbird for a while to manage all my email accounts. But the layout started doing something weird this morning that makes it almost unusable for me. I noticed this about 11:45 in the morning and it had been working normally until that moment all morning.
When I open Thunderbird with layout set to Classic View, the "Welcome to Thunderbird" page is visible normally in the bottom of the screen. When I click on an email to open it, the email usually appears on top of this welcome page so I still have almost half the vertical screen space for reading my emails. I typically use the F8 key to turn this pane on and off.
Today, it seems that the emails started only taking up about a quarter of that space. Between the list of emails and the pane where I read the emails, the "Welcome to Thunderbird" page remains partly visible, taking up screen space. I only have a little bit of the email visible. It remains this way no matter which layout I change to. Did I press a button that changed this accidentally? I can't see why anyone would want this sort of layout.
I have screen shots to help you see what is happening. The first one shows what Thunderbird looks like when I first open it. That appears normal. The 2nd image shows what happens when I try to open an email. As you can see, the Welcome page is now occupying a big part of the screen and there's barely any space to read emails. I can't adjust it with the mouse. How can I remove this?
