I'm using thunderbird: 115.16.0esr on Kubuntu Linux 22.04 LTS and have the same problem as this Archived, yet unresolved problem:

"""When I get a meeting invite, and accept that invite, selecting "send a response now", no message ever arrives at the email of the inviter and no email ends up in any of my folders (drafts or sent). It is like nothing happens. The event *is* accepted and added to the calendar, but no respose is created or sent. """

  • I can send a normal Email to the sender of the invite.
  • The Email is configured in the calendar

The only differences to the other thread are :

  • My Email is hosted somewhere else.
  • I use Nextcloud Calender via WEBDAVS, instead of the local calendar
  • The invite I receive is created in outlook.

I have a problem forwarding emails from one of my banks containing bank statements to my accountant. I have setup message filters and all is working good for one bank, but emails from another bank won't forward at all. As soon as I run Thunderbird in the morning, I get the blank forward email from that bank containing only subject with my accountant email fulfilled, but no body and no attachments.

Then I have to close that window, and do it manually every morning. I click the received email from bank, than forward, put forward address from accountant and send.

Since yesterday's update of Thunderbird, I cannot even forward email from this bank (inline). The email is totally blank, no body, no attachment. If I select to forward as an attachment (*.eml) than it is all OK.

All other emails forward fine. The problem is only with this bank. Also I have noticed that the digital signature from this bank is not valid, so maybe this is what is creating the problem.

Hi, I tend to archive my local folders once a year and until this year the archives have gone into a folder called archives but this year they seem to have disappeared. It says they went into a folder called All Mail but there is no such folder under local folders. What has happened to these emails. Thanks, Roger

Hi there. I've always used the two click method to sort primary and secondary columns (Not sure what the term would be) So I click on Date column header, first, until it is sorted with newest email at the top. This usually takes 2 clicks as it seems that the default sort for that column is oldest on top. Then I click on the Read status header, also 2 clicks as it seems that read on top is the default.

How it used to work is, after this, the newest unread emails is on top of the list. But today I noticed that now the oldest unread is on top when doing the same tests. This is after the latest update for Thunderbird for Linux Mint that I ran. (It might have chanced earlier but I've only noticed it today)

Thunderbird version: 115.16.0esr (64-bit) Linux Mint version: 21.3

hallo, two weeks ago my "Arcor-account" on Thunderbird indicated "timeout" and I couldn't send or recieve messages. Then I deleted the account on Thunderbird and tried to reinstall. But that doesn't work. Thunderbird found the settings of the adress, but when confirming it, they said the settings or password are wrong, what is definitely not the case. The Arcoradress is very old, Arcor belongs meanwhile to Vodafone. May be that causes the problem. I failed also on trying to install manually.

SMIME encryption of subject line

When I send to the first recipient, the subject line is encrypted. when I send to the second recipient, there is a lock symbol with a red diagonal line across it, i presume denoting that the subject line is not encrypted. What is the difference is there a user setting for it be changed?

Der lokale Teil der Empfängeradresse "...ü...@arcor.de" enthält ASCII-fremde Zeichen. Ihr Server unterstützt SMTPUTF8 nicht. Bitte ändern Sie die Adresse und versuchen Sie es erneut."

And more regrettably and astonishlingly, there is no single attempt after asking this or part of this very helpless error message. Hope You can solve this severe bug, and sorry for taking Your time. Best wishes Hans J. Holm

There is a note at the bottom of the email that says: A unique identity matching the From address was not found. The message will be sent using the current From field and setting from identity Vince Hunter < omni232@telus.net> Can you give me instructions in laymans terms to fix this bug and return it back to the way it was?

I have recently had to have my computer operating system restored. I have a Windows 10 Pro 64 bit machine. My broadband provider is Grande Communications whose new name is Astound. Anyway, I cannot get my account (setblack@grandecom.net) to send or receive emails once I reloaded Thunderbird onto my machine. It is frustrating as the dickens as IMAP Server and SMPT Server both tell me that the certificate is not valid for my address/provider. I have put in the correct ports for both servers according to the information provided by Astound for users in Texas (I live in Austin). I suspect that my provider is the source of this situation but I am bound and determined to find a solution as I have used Firefox and Thunderbird for a good while.

It seems like I have had similar problems connecting to GrandeCommunications in the past. I can confirm security exemptions and check the box for Thunderbird to remember this confirmation. I must have figured it out at one point as I was using these programs till my machine bluescreened.

I am trying to link my school, (Google Workspace) email to my Thunderbird client, but I am running into issues. I did a little bit of light digging, and then found the settings to enable IMAP and POP3 in gmail. I tried it again, but no dice. I did some more digging, and found a post by google about deprecating support for "Insecure" methods of login that use a username & password. They recommend that I find a "Sign in with google" button instead. I am pretty sure that Thunderbird doesn't use traditional google-session tokens. Is there another way to link my account? Or am I mistaken?

dear all, thunderbird corrupted on my 2nd laptop. So I installed tb 128.5.2esr (64) new on this laptop. I Installed t-online accounts for 2 users -> all ok. tried to install web.de accounts for 2 users -> fail with both. I used the same settings as in 1st laptop. When I test the web.de account, I get the message, that the email account can not be identified. I activated thiss account anyway:@ I am able to send a message from klsgbkweb.de to klsgbk@web.de and receive it on my 1st laptop. Then the password should not be the problem. On my defect account on 2nd laptop there is however the inbox missing. I receive no emails at all. The same problem with my other web.de email account. I compaired the account setting several times and see no differences. I am lost and have no further clue. All are IMAP accounts: - imap.web.de : 993 - SSL/TLS - smtp.web.de : 587 - STARTTLS Do you have any idea, what else to check / to do? Thx
