Thunderbird version: 153.3.1 ESR Operating system: Windows

I have two free Outlook.com accounts configured in Thunderbird.

One Outlook.com account works normally. The other Outlook.com account consistently fails.

Error message:

"User is authenticated but not connected."

What I have verified:

- OAuth2 is configured for IMAP and SMTP. - IMAP is enabled in Outlook Web settings. - Web Outlook works normally. - Outlook for Windows works normally. - Spark Mail on iPhone works normally. - Another Outlook.com account works in the same Thunderbird installation. - Betterbird shows exactly the same behavior. - The account has been recreated multiple times. - Saved passwords and OAuth tokens have been deleted. - A new Thunderbird profile was tested. - The browser used for OAuth authentication was changed and tested. - OAuth authentication completes successfully in the browser. - IPv6 was disabled (network.dns.disableIPv6=true), but the issue remained. - The failing account uses the primary Outlook.com alias, and the username matches the primary alias. - hostname, authMethod, and type settings are identical to the working Outlook.com account.

Relevant log output:

D/IMAP XOAUTH2 auth

15 NO User is authenticated but not connected.

Additional observation:

OAuth authentication succeeds, and Thunderbird proceeds to XOAUTH2 authentication. The Microsoft server then replies:

"NO User is authenticated but not connected."

Has anyone seen this behavior with a specific Outlook.com account while another Outlook.com account works correctly in the same Thunderbird installation?

After switching DNS registrar to Cloudflare, Thunderbird couldn't connect to POP3 server. I set mail A record to un-proxied (DNS only), MX record points to mail.mydomain.com.

I pinged mail.mydomain.com and saw the real IP address, not a proxy IP from Cloudflare.

I used the real IP address for the POP3 server, still can't connect.

I used my web hosting company's server name, which has exactly the same IP address as mail.mydomain.com, everything becomes fine.

Anyone has had the same issue? Thanks.

A vertical blue line/bar has appeared between the folder icon and the folder name. I can change the icon colour in properties for a folder but the blue bar stays blue. It is blue regardless of the state of messages in the folder (whether read or unread). Is it possibly related to the bug where Thunderbird tries to update every time I open T? But help says T is up to date. The blue line does not appear on my wife's Thunderbird running the same software version under a different profile. It is very annoying not knowing why it is there and what it means. Thanks

I've had AOL for an Email provider for several years now. I rarely went to the website to check my Email cause Thunderbird was linked to it. But today, AOL seems to be turning off my Thunderbird (I can't send or receive Email at the moment). It's like malware with the continuous popups making me log in to AOL to use Thunderbird but then ending up on some Yahoo Oops screen. I've been using Thunderbird since before I transitioned to AOL after moving.

It's been working fine up until today. When I do anything on Thunderbird, the annoying popup screens appear wanting me to log in. Any ideas? Have I been hacked?

I use Thunderbird all the time as my email on a desktop PC.

For several emails, especially some from yesterday the Correspondent and the subject have  ?crossed?

For example: an email looked from the Correspondent list as if sent from my energy provider but the message was from a Garden Centre. It's not a one-off; another message looked like from a magazine but was a receipt for a purchase. They were not consecutive so it's not as if the list has 'slipped' by one or two. I think it's happened before but not as worrysome.

Is there a reason or solution please?

I'm now scared to delete unwanted emails without time consuming checking each one in detail.

Thank you for any advice/support/suggestions
