I’m using Firefox to access different websites that provide online calculators and tools. Some of these tools ask for my location or use my city to calculate a result.

I’m not sure how Firefox handles this information. Does Firefox allow websites to access my location, and will it always ask for my permission first? Also, can I check or change which websites are allowed to use my location?

I’d like to understand how this works before allowing a website to use my location.

I usually have a lot of tabs open (which probably isn't a good habit), but many of them are important to a project I'm doing currently. Usually if my imac Ventura 13.7.2 shuts down on it's own, or I have to shut it down because it's frozen, either I will have the option to restore the session, or if not I will have the option to go to "history"/recently closed tabs". But this time Session Restore showed up blank, "recently closed tabs" was greyed out or wasn't there, and "recently closed windows" is greyed out. In the meantime I've been using a new Firefox window and have a few new tabs, and that's all "recently closed tabs" will show. Not the "many tabs" from the session before.

It may be that this problem occurred after our most recent update a few days ago. (We're now at 156.0 (64 bit). Or I might have closed the Firefox window myself by mistake, instead of a shut down. Is that what caused it? Ugh.

I am not a savvy user at all, so the articles were way too confusing.

I am grateful to anyone who can explain a straight forward solution.

Good Morning. I´d like to use the built in VPN in Firefox 156.0.1, but I don´t get the VPN Button. I´m living in Germany and am using Win 11 (64). What other restrictions appear that avoid the VPN Button to show up? Thanks in advance, Achim

When will the Mozilla Firefox for Japan be available? I tried to purchase the unlimited VPN but seeing I live in Japan I could not purchase it. So, is there a time frame for when the VPN will be available in Japan?

I am happy that FF has added great PDF capabilities. I have a problem with signatures. When I add my signature as an image, the result is a very poor resolution / quality signature image. Adobe Reader inserts the signature as a very high resolution / quality image.

Is there any update / solution to this? FYI I am using the same signature image but FF makes it BW and poor quality while Adobe Reader maintains the color and resolution.

I have installed the firefox browser using a firefox installer version 18.5.0.0. However, when I try to switch to vertical tabs, they are not activating, even when I try to click the sidebar button. Attached are screenshots showing a horizontal tab view working, while the vertical tab view is not working. How can I resolve this?

Have tried all recommended fixes to enable usual Lottery sign in but no joy unless I do it in a private window. All cookies/racking/extensions etc. looked at but no joy. Only happened in last 2 weeks as have always managed to log in via usual window for years. Do not want to blow all history etc. away via Firefox as re-sets so many stats on sights I use so do this via CCleaner. At the National Lottery log in page detail is all there but the actual log in button greyed out. As I say can log in via Iphone or private window or using Edge so issue is with Firefox settings suddenly.

I'm using Firefox 155.0.1 64bits, in Linux Mint Debian Edition 7, x11, XFCE4. I have a Belgian keyboard. I have noticed that the dead keys aren't working any more when typing text / messages from within Firefox. I don't have this problem in other browsers or applications.

I used xev (x11 utility) to check if the dead keys were working and tested a different keyboard, all work. I tried to start Firefox in safe mode or by starting Firefox from a terminal with the following commands: - env GTK_IM_MODULE=xim firefox - env GTK_IM_MODULE=ibus firefox

But nothing worked. The dead keys aren't working. The issue must come from Firefox for it is not an hardware issue (tried different keyboards) nor software (dead keys work in other applications).

Any idea to fix this ?

I have been unable to update Firefox past 132.0.2; every time I download an update and install/restart, all tabs automatically crash upon loading regardless of the website. I can load local pages like settings or about:config, but anything that actually uses the internet goes straight to crashing (including sites as simple as google.com). I have tried restarting in Troubleshooting mode to no avail. There are no crash reports when I pull up about:crashes, so unable to post IDs here.

It is not an internet access problem (I am [unfortunately] filling out this form from Edge), and with reversion to 132.0.2 everything moves along hunky-dory. I am also able to use the newest version of Firefox on all of my work devices, so it appears to be something in particular with my person PC. Problem occurred with both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Any help would be much appreciated- I didn't mind an older version of Firefox that worked, but there have been some MFA logons that refuse to go load in v132 so it's becoming something I'm less able to ignore now. TIA

I've used Firefox on MacBook Pros since 2009. In the past there were ways to add shortcuts to websites to the Firefox Home Page. That capability is now badly degraded.

I'm running FF 156.0 on macOS Tahoe 26.7 on an M4 MAX MBP-16

Problem #1: The Firefox Homepage in one of the accounts on my MBP has 4 Rows of 6 icons each, for a total of 24. On another account it has 4 rows of 8 icons each for a total of 32. I want to increase the number of shortcut icons to 32 on the page which has 24, but I cannot find a way to do it.

Problem #2: I can't find a way to ADD a shortcut to a website to the Firefox Home Page. I'd done that many times without much difficulty about 4 years ago. (I don't want to do this by editing the name and the URL of an existing Home Page Icon.)

Everything was ok, but exidently (maybe after some update) my firefox browser just stopped recovering my pages after closing and reopening it. YES, it is turned on in settings and I tried every single advice I found, this [bad] browser just don' do it. I don't have extensions. There are backups files in sessionstore-backups, but it doesn't load it. I looked at sessionstore-logs there was a one error(date is about time recovery stopped working), which was caused by lack of free space on my disk, but now I have a lot of free space and it still doesn't work

I am stuck in full screen. I can get back to the tab menu by moving my mouse but I have arthritis in my hands and every extra movement makes it harder for me to use my computer, in addition to the flipping back and forth being incredibly annoying. I am going to have to use a different browser if I can't find a way to stop this. There must be an easy fix but I can't find anything in settings that helps.

Recently I cannot use Paypal to process any online payment on Firefox without the browser crashing.

OS: Windows 11 25H2 Reproduction steps: a vendor would have a Paypal button. I would click on it and Firefox would open a pop-up window briefly before crashing.

The pop-up window is normal behaviour for how Paypal processing has worked on Firefox in the past. I have tried turning off potential content blockers: 3rd-party userscripts loading through ViolentMonkey, content blockers via AdNaseaum, and Enhanced Tracking Protection to no effect.
