Hi,

I just cannot find any information on how Thunderbird designers see the Threads / Threading features to be used. How would I use it ? What are my (individual) choices for configuration ? etc.

The only info I can find is : [how to manage and turn on/off the feature].

...and of course lots unhappy user voices across the forums.

So: How would I use it ? What are my (individual) choices for configuration ? etc. Please link the respective Mozilla resource (blog, help, user design doc, ... whatever).

Ah, to start with, a description of how the feature is meant to behave, can be a start. (Sorry, I was just too stupid to find that)

Hello, I sent the message below last evening and someone named "Ed" replied. Thank you Ed. When I tried to "reply" to his/your question/email, I immediately got a bounced back email as "no-reply@support.mozilla.org" could not be found. Also, in my original question I said that I'm not "computer illiterate"; apparently I am as I don't know how to reply to his question. Please include info on how I can respond. Hello, Attached are the messages I have been receiving ever since 6 October 2025. I've tried to read about fixing these myself, to no avail. (I mean, I can Read; I just can't fix this.) I've tried to Compact ALL folders individually. But that seemed to do nothing. (Before 6 October, the Thunderbird window would at least "flicker" a little after compact.) Trash is empty. Tried disabling McAfee AntiVirus & Firewall. And, no, this isn't happening because I'm using McAfee; I've been using McAfee since Windows XP and Thunderbird since before it "broke away" from Mozilla. They have, until 6 October, played nice together. I really like Thunderbird so I do not want to find another email client/program/what-have-you. There are LOTS of saved emails that I cannot move/copy to "save space", so...Help? Please?

P.S.-I am not computer illiterate. But, slow, easy to follow, non-BIOS changing, step by step directions would be preferred.

Greetings! I read everywhere that we must install the Lightning add-on to use the calendar feature in Thunderbird. But when I search for this add-on, I get a bazillion options, none of which appears Lightning. There is something called Lightning Calendar Tabs that keeps coming up. Is this it? Doesn't seem so.

Where can one download/install the Lightning add-on?

When trying to access many popular websites with Firefox on my Fedora 43 installation, I am greeted with a security warning page with the SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER error. For most of these websites I can simply accept and continue, but HSTS-only sites will not permit this.

Affected websites include but are not limited to (based on exceptions in the certificates section of Firefox settings):

• github.io (many subdomains)
• purdue.edu (many subdomains)
• iu.edu
• ebay.com
• cbsnews.com
• iwm.org.uk
• home.cern
• celestrak.org

Any help in resolving this is appreciated.

I established a new email address in my existing Thunderbird platform. It only configures an "Inbox" folder and a "Trash" folder. I can not add a "Sent" folder (or "Draft" or "Archives", etc.). I tried deleting the account and re-establishing it, but that did not work. I did notice that emails sent from the new account are being saved in my "Local" account folder's "Sent" folder.

I have also gone into "Account Settings" for the new email account to make sure the software was properly configured with where to store sent messages and drafts, but the setting reverst back to the "Local Folders," presumably because there is no "Sent" folder in the proper account.

How do I change the email account inserted by Firefox when I click on an email link?

I have previously changed the main email address (added secondary address, swapped secondary for primary, deleted secondary) but when I click an email link in a web page to write an email to the web page business, the old deleted email account is used instead of the new one. This old address is not listed at all as far as I have seen in my Mozilla Account.

hi. how can i copy or cut the URL from the address bar?? There is no pop-up, drop down ? All other browsers can do this.

and also the whole text in the bar seems not to be selected.

Yesterday I upgraded my PC from Windows 10 to 11. Today I discovered my Local Folders are not visible. Searching tells me the messages still exist, but TB does not show the folders. I did the same upgrade a month ago on a laptop (Windows 10 Pro to 11), no problems. I didn't externally back up the messages as I am a dinosaur and don't know how, but at least they are still on the hard drive. Thousands of them though so I need the local folders back. Tried all the fixes I can find on the Community Forum, without success. Can anyone help please? Bob

anyone know how to recover my email contacts in latest version ot TB, theyve dissapeared since using spam aniallater , with is now uninstalled.

i have the same email acct on my other pc , could i recover everything from therte as its intact thanks

also my TB spam filters have now dissapeared [but still seem to be working] but filtering the wrong things. thanks if anyone can help

the password manager (about:logins) is a very handy feature, i use all the time. However, tehre is so many pages where the FF password manager fails to suggest the correct login user name to fill in the "user" field. (Interestingly, the password fill is much more accurate).

To start with: for logging in on THIS VERY SITE for posting this question, I needed to:

1. manually open the FF logins page
2. enter the url "accounts.firefox.com" for search
3. pick the entry
4. copy the username
5. swithc back window
6. paste and confirm.
7. repeat for password (I think - or came this at least suggest correctly maybe)

What's going wrong? Is my installation broken - or is this for all users the same experience?

In Thunderbird 143.0.1 (64-bit), my appointment invitations are no longer sent automatically to the respective email recipients, as they used to be. I can't find any settings where I can change this. Under ‘Troubleshooting Information’ in the line ‘Send appointment notifications via email’, the value is not set to ‘true’. I look forward to your help. Best regards, Thorsten

hi in a new win 10 instal most text incl Fire Fox text is made up of letters [font] that are made of thin and thick lines [in the same letter]

i dont know if its a strange font or another problem, i have copied all "font" setting from my other pc where i dont have the problem.

also i cant get spell check to work here dsespite turning it on

Every time I boot Win 10 Pro, a half dozen Firefox pop-ups complain as indicated, as well as the wrong google page login (Voice instead of Calendar). There is no Firefox showing in the Windows>Task ManagerStartup> list. Firefox(143.0.4 (64b))> settings>General> Startup> has only [check for default]. I cannot find the controlling 'Startup' controls.

Hallo, bei mir kommt immer wieder das angehängte pop-up. Wie kann ich die Abfrage dauerhaft entfernen. Ich hatte mal ocloud aber schon lange nicht mehr also wird das nicht gebraucht Bitte um Hilfe

hi team, recently i can not open any PDF when i am in gmail using Firefox Browser is updated to latest verison, i have also check settings under application and whatever i choose, when click in PDF in my gmail, i can not open it directly, i need to go right click on it, open in new tab, then it downloads to my PC and open in new tab?. stupid isnt it? i have tried many settings and nothing seems to be working, any chance that i can just click on PDF and it opens in new tab or my Adobe app, without download it to my PC, cause sometimes i just want to see wtf is the attacment...

I am a M365 - leaver, and working several months now with Thunderbird/LibreOffice/Nextcloud. Sometimes I'm proud of what I learned and can do with the new software. Sometimes I'm a little lost in the woods.

I'm using the add-on Quicktext to insert default html text, like a template, in some of my my emails. One of the templates is a notification for my customers to inform them the invoice they received from me is not yet paid.

In the former software I was used to click in my template on a datepicker to insert the senddate of the invoice. I tried to insert a html-datepicker. This appears in the email, but is send to the reciever as a datepciker, not as the date I choose.

My question. Is there a way to insert a datepicker in a template like Quicktext, or is there a better add-on for this goal?

Parece que le molesta, que pidamos ayuda. Despues de actualizar Firefox version 143.04 no guarda contraseñas, las guarda en el momento, (y seve que esta guardada, en el gestor de contraseñas, pero en como siempre ocurre, cuando cierro la sesion y abro de nuevo iniciar sesion, no reconoce mi contraseña recien escrita y guardada, todo esto pasa despues de actualizarlo a version 14.04 he renombrado carpeta como usted dice y no me deja.

When an email that is received from a sender that has previously been marked as spam then Thunderbird activates the "beep" notification. When I tab to Thunderbird to see the email by then it has already been moved by Thunderbird to the Junk folder. This is quite frustrating as it unnecessarily interrupts workflow just to see that it was junk.

I would like it not to notify on messages that go to the Junk folder. Is there some way I can get this to work.
