If you’ve added a second email address to your Mozilla account, you can make it your new primary email. This is helpful if you’re changing email providers or prefer using a different address to sign in and receive notifications.

To do this, you’ll first need to add the new email as a secondary address, verify it, and then promote it to your primary in your account settings.

Add a secondary email to your Mozilla account

1. Click the menu button to open the menu panel.
2. Click your Mozilla account (your email address). You may be prompted to sign in.
3. Click Manage Account. This will open the Mozilla account settings in your browser.
4. Under Secondary email, click the Add button.
   • Enter the new email then click Save.

Check your inbox for a confirmation code. Enter the code to verify your new email.

Make your new email the primary

1. Once verified, your new email will appear under the Secondary email section.
2. Click the Make primary button next to the new email.

Sign out and back in on your devices

After changing your primary email:

• You may need to sign out and sign back in on Firefox for mobile and other devices.
• This ensures that your new email appears across all Mozilla services.

Troubleshooting email verification

If you don't receive the verification email, do the following:

1. Check Spam/Junk/filters in your email provider.
2. Allow 5-10 minutes for the email to arrive; it can sometimes take a moment to send.
3. Confirm you entered your new email correctly.
