Sync does not seem to have accepted bookmarks from my laptop to my pc, but has the other way round, why?

I have recently installed sync 1.3 on my pc then my laptop. my laptop seems to have synced successfully, but my pc does not have the bookmarks etc from my laptop. I have restarted firefox on both machines 3 times, but to no avail, any ideas?
