Back again with the same issue from July 2026. Please see attached info
Hello. I am back again with the same issue that I presented on the forum post three months ago. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1594903?utm_campaign=questions-reply The difference is now it is happening on Firefox v157.0.1;everything else is identical. Qubes os R4.3.2 with Firefox 157.0.1 in a Fedora 44 xfce VM. To recap I open one window for Proxmox Datacenter Manager and as soon as I click to sign in Firefox completely disappears. I can open this in Chromium browser and Firefox ESR v.140.17.0 esr perfectly fine. Please consult the original post for all I did to troubleshoot this. I am working with the esr version now but would like to help put this issue to bed. Community members stepped up last time to help me so I am here to do my small part for others. Ask for any info you need and I'll reply ASAP. Thanks in advance. SDS

Okay folks here we are again. The linux mint machine is obviously not based on Fedora but Firefox v158 worked fine (the one from the mint repos) I spun up a duplicate vm on my Qubes machine and with Fedora 44 v158 crashes the same as v157. I set up and installed your beta repo and installed v159.0b2 on the same VM and so far no crash. Just business as usual. All other web sites and GUIs seem to work fine in v157, v158 and v159.0b2. I'll leave this with the people who know more about this and will check in to see if there is any other info I can provide. Thanks again SDS

Could you test it in Firefox 159 (beta)? Thanks.
Hello again. A little update for the situation here. I logged on to the PDM WebUI from a Linux Mint machine that has Firefox 158 and there is no crash. I will still set up the beta to test and let you know the results. For that I will test on the Qubes OS machine Fedora 44 VM.
Thanks for the fast reply

Me again. Just submitted two crash reports for the v158 problem. bp-39bc9fc5-c8f8-4761-ab76-ee71f0261015 bp-3808f10e-c198-4d59-8cab-0a9210261015
Please let me know what else I can do. Thanks SDS
Yes, v158 is obviously affected. Can you reproduce these crashes in v159b?
No crashes so far. All webpages and webGUIs for my network devices open normally on the beta
It must have been a regression from bug 1978773, that is fixed in 159.
Maybe so. It just puzzled me how the only thing that would crash it in Fedora was the Proxmox Datacenter Manager WebUI. And then the same FF version worked fine in mint. Ghost in the machine time? Gremlins? Any way thanks to all who helped. I will mark the comment suggesting the beta as my solution.

The difference is in the graphics stack on the system, and potentially lack of any real hardware output or drivers and only piping that through software means. To put this into some perspective, most of the ~8 people affected: crash-stats.mozilla.org/signature/?product=Firefox&signature=webrender%3A%3Arenderer%3A%3Agpu_buffer%3A%3AGpuBufferBuilderImpl%3CT%3E%3A%3Awrite_blocks would be yourself I guess;)
Anyway the bug linked from the previous thread has some changes landed few weeks ago to constrain gradient stops, and that update will be included most likely in v159.0 in two weeks. Until then please try using the Beta branch to help confirm everything's looking good in that version — much appreciated!
