Firefox is not a search engine. Firefox is a web browser that can use your choice of search engine to help you find content on the web.

As said Firefox is a web browser while the Ecosia is a search engine., A search engine is for example google.com, duckduckgo.com, bing.com, Ecosia.com etc.

However if you currently have Ecosia set as your search provider, it's possible you have their addon installed — please check if removing any Ecosia–sounding extensions also removes their search entry. You can then follow the articles above and set any other provider as your new default.
