Hi.

When logged in to google (e.g., gmail) in one firefox tab, I am them auto-logged in to that same google account in any new tab or window I open. Is there a way to stop this?

I would like to be able to have one tab logged in to a google product (e.g., gmail, google calendar, youtube), but retain a "blank slate" when I open new tabs or windows, so that I can browse anonymously or log in to multiple different accounts (google or otherwise).

I have privacy badger and HTTPS everywhere installed in firefox, have set the browser to block all third party cookies, and to never remember history (high security settings across the board) . I tried enabling Multi-Account Containers, but I'm not sure how to use it and also suspect it is a more complicated functionality than I actually need.

I would imagine there has to be a way to "break" the connection between multiple open tabs or windows. Thanks!

2. If tabs in private windows share a different cookie jar, how do i set firefox to default to all private tabs all the time?

While you can do that, it will make the problem worse. All private tabs share one private windows cookie jar. If you disable regular windows, then you will be reduced from two cookie jars (one regular, one private) to one cookie jar (one private). Also, you can't use Container tabs with no regular windows.

3. I don't really want to create pre-defined categories, rather I want access to non-defined categories. Is there a way to open new tabs or windows with non-defined or blank categories?

I think every container needs a label, whether it is text or a number. If you don't want to name a container Gmail, you could just use the Travel container. It really doesn't make any functional difference, it's just for your ease of reference in keeping track of different contexts.

So, cookies. Tabs in regular windows share one cookie jar, and tabs in private windows share a different cookie jar. If you want to open a tab with a third, fourth, etc., cookie jar, you can use Container Tabs. More info on that feature in this article:

Multi-Account Containers

Although Firefox has a few predefined categories, you can create your own for different email addresses if you need to use different Google accounts in different tabs.

Thanks for the response/link. I started looking through the Multi-Account Containers link at it will take me a little while to digest. In the meantime

1. I've enabled the Multi-Account containers plug-in and yet don't see it appear in the top right alongside there other plug-ins.
