Proxy settings won't stay set, and keeps denying me access

On 7/4, Mozilla wouldn't load and kept saying proxy server denied. I checked with my lap top and it was marked 'no proxy'. I changed my desktop to the same and it will load one time and then I have to go back in and reset the proxy to no proxy to get it to load again. I have also tried, using the automatic select and it will work only for one access to the web and then it won't work the second time. What should the proxy settings be and where can I find the port number if needed

Start Firefox in Use Troubleshoot Mode in Firefox to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
