emails i move to spam still continue to arrive in my in-box; why?
When I move emails to spam I continue to get emails from that source in my in box. I thought moving them to spam would result in them going there in the future.

Firefox has no email features, any email features are part of the webmail service that you are using. You need to ask the support for the webmail service about how it handles spam.
