Recently Firefox has been randomly crashing the past 3 weeks multiple times, Is anyone else having this odd issue ? I'll be watching a stream or youtube video and bam out of no where the Browser goes black for like 20 or 30 seconds then crashes. I sent in about 3 crash reports and wondering if the Firefox team is aware of this issue.

Please follow the steps below to provide us crash IDs to help us learn more about your crash.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

  1. Enter about:crashes in the Firefox address bar and press Enter. A list of Submitted (and Unsubmitted, if any) Crash Reports will appear, similar to the one shown below.
  2. Copy the 3 most recent Submitted Report IDs that start with bp- and then go back to your forum question and paste those IDs into the "Post a Reply" box.

Note: If a recent Report ID does not start with bp- click on it to submit the report.

(Please don't take a screenshot of your crashes, just copy and paste the IDs. The below image is just an example of what your Firefox screen should look like.)

What security software are you running? Try testing in Windows Sandbox (VM) to see if you have the same issue. https://www.howtogeek.com/399290/how-to-use-windows-10s-new-sandbox-to-safely-test-apps/

When entering About Crashes in the address bar and pressing enter it's only showing one crash instead of the multiple I've had. Literally had a crash 5 mins ago but it's not logged, Firefox crashes every day and it's so frustrating. Seems like the crashing is only happening on Youtube.

I forgot to mention that i am using uBlock Origin with the newest version.

Thanks alot for reporting this samarigil66.

I also checked & found you have uBlock Origin 1.60.0, released on Sep 26, 2024. Try updating that to the latest version, 1.61.0. It was released on Nov 5, 2024. I see a lot of new changes were added to it. It might fix the crashes on Youtube. So please let us know if it does.

Update uBlock Origin here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

Youtube is very aggressively blocking ad blockers. So this battle between uBlock Origin could get worse. But keep in mind if future crashes like this happen on Youtube, it could be due to uBlock Origin again.

i'm on the newest Ublock Origin update 1.61.2. Ublock Origin is still plagued With many issues, Crashing or stuck on buffering then crashing while watch on stream on youtube etc.

I don't understand what's going on with Ublock Origin, I've been using their extension for over a decade with little to no issues and now out of no where Ublock Origin is causing so many issues that I've been experiencing for 3 straight months. . I don't even know what to so say anymore, Is Ublock Origin aware of this issue ? Was Ublock Origin's data base breached ?

I've done multiple fixes to get rid of this curse (clear cookies and cache and a complete uninstall/reinstall of firefox,Fresh install of Ublock Origin) but still issue after issue. Can't Firefox contact Ublock Origin about these issues?

What ad blocker do you recommend i use ?

No response after almost a month, I don't understand what's going on with Firefox. Is Firefox really at it's lowest low that they can't resolve this serious issue ? I'm still having the same issues and no fixes. In my opinion Firefox just doesn't like people watching live streams on Youtube, I'm able to watch streams on twitch just fine with no buffering or crashes. This severe issue has been happening for 4 months with no solution and I'm really getting frustrating with Firefox's horrible response to my problem. All of the solutions you have given me just doesn't work. From now on I'm switching to Chrome until Firefox can resolve their issues.

Apologies, it's still being investigated under bug 1931717.
