I want the "sync tabs" to actually sync my tabs, instead of just showing me a list of tabs from other devices. Is this possible?

What I want is to look at an identical browser no matter what device I'm on. If I close a tab on my desktop I want that tab to be closed the next time I open up firefox on my laptop. If I open a new tab on my laptop I want to see that new tab open next time I go to my desktop.

If I have to remember to re-open or re-close tabs every time I switch devices then the sync feature is not really useful. If I could remember what tabs I wanted open I could just open/close them. I want this to work automatically, without my input.

Is there a way to do this?

Thanks and best wishes.

Hi

Thank you for your question. I notice that you are using an older version of Firefox and may need to update to Firefox Quantum. You can read more about how to do this here.

There is further work being done by the Sync team to improve the Sync Tabs feature and this is something we hope to improve further still in future releases of Firefox.
