Win XP x86 Firefox 7 - Just upgraded from 3.5 Never gets to start further than reaching an error in browser.xul which seems to depend on online content?

The Afrikaans version of the errors thrown in a little Window by the sick little fox. (This same problem is found by a multitude of users on Firefox 6 too)

XML-ontledingsfout: ongedefinieerde entiteit Ligging: chrome://browser/content/browser.xul Reëlnommer 233, kolom 5: <key id="key_scratchpad" keycode="&scratchpad.keycode;" modifiers="shift" </p>

It is caused by a failed update of the add-ons, I believe. I fixed it up by navigating to persistant storage facility of some of the *.xul files (e.g. browser.xul) that seemed to cause the problem, backed them up and then removed them. They were located at

C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extensions\{XXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-ABCDEFFEDCBA}\chrome\content\*

This probably has the effect of removing almost all your add-ons, but at least you have a browser again... Hey, I answered my own question!
