have been unable to delete mails that I no longer require on the mailing list, do not know what to try next, having already highlighted, clicked delete, and clicked the OK button at top of page which doesn't seem to work. Please can someone tell me where I am going wrong

Firefox doesn't do email, it's a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
