When I try and open Firefox I get message box. On top it says Firefox.exe-Bad Image and inside the box it says DLLC:\Program Files\MozillaFirefox|nspr4.dll is not a valid Windows image. So I cannot get to internet this way and it is also preventing my ability to open Webroot Antivirus from scanning. The "scan now" tabs are not highlighted and I get the same message as above.

I am however able to open Internet Explorer

Do a clean (re-)install:

  • Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
  • Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
  • Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
  • It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

You do not need to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue

Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

thanks I have already deleted the files. I tried to also uninstall my Webroot Anti virus which also wasn't working and re-install it before Firefox and am having troubles with that also, so I suspect the problem is deeper. It is an old computer and I think it may finally be time to say goodbye to this one
